Creating Units and Lessons in the New Content Experience
In the New Content Experience you must create a Unit before you can add content items. You can create sub-unit items called Lessons or Folders to establish a deeper hierarchy. Once you create Units, you can add dates, restrictions, or a description, and you can populate them with topics. You can drag and drop files from your computer into a module, or you can select from the Content tool鈥檚 Add Existing or Create New buttons to create new topics or add existing course objects.
- Click on the Content tab in your course's navbar

- Select the Unit you want to add items to
- Click Add Existing to upload files, add external learning tools (like Perusall or Video Assignments)

- Click Create New to create a new HTML page, a new activity like an Assignment, Discussion, or Quiz, or to create a new Lesson sub-unit.

Creating Modules in Classic Content
In the Classic Content Experience you must create a module before you can add topics (content items). You can create sub-modules (modules within existing modules) to establish a deeper hierarchy. Once you create modules, you can add dates, restrictions, or a description, and you can populate them with topics. You can drag and drop files from your computer into a module, or you can select from the Content tool鈥檚 New and Add Activities buttons to create new topics or add existing course objects.
Creating Modules and Adding Content
- Click on the Content tab in your NavBar.

- Under Table of Contents, enter a module name in the Add a Module field found at the bottom. Hit Enter/Return when you鈥檙e done to create the module.

- Drag the reorder icon to the left of the module title to move them up or down the list.聽
- To add content items聽to the module, click聽Upload/Create聽and select the item,聽or聽drag and drop聽content into the module.

Notice in the above image right under the module title 鈥淢odule 5 | Grades鈥 there is text that reads 鈥淎dd dates and restrictions鈥︹ and 鈥淎dd a description鈥︹ If you click on them, they will open up and allow you to add more detail. The 鈥淎dd a description鈥︹ field is especially useful for adding text, images, or videos as introduction or instructions for your module.聽
