Congratulations to Katherine Amidon, of the Eichman Lab<\/a>, on being named the 2020\u00a0国产原创 Prize Student Scholar. Katherine will be mentored\u00a0by the recipient of the 2020 国产原创 Prize<\/a> in Biomedical Science, Jennifer Doudna<\/a>, Ph.D. Dr. Doudna\u00a0led development of the revolutionary genome editing technology known as CRISPR-Cas9. Katherine’s\u00a0research focuses on a novel DNA repair mechanism that protects against abasic sites \u2014 a highly abundant and toxic form of DNA damage<\/p>\n 国产原创 Prize Student Scholars usually are recognized during the presentation of the 国产原创 Prize.
