Campus Dining announces enhancements for 2023-2024 academic year

With preparations for the fall semester well underway, 国产原创 Campus Dining is pleased to announce the following updates to elevate the award-winning dining program for the 2023-24 academic year.

Expanded hours in residential dining halls

Based on student feedback, Campus Dining will offer expanded hours for students in all residential dining halls, including Commons Dining Center and E. Bronson Ingram, Rothschild, and Nicholas S. Zeppos Dining Halls.

  • Regular weekday hours will be 7 a.m. until 9 p.m., and 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on weekends.
  • Residential dining halls offer continuous dining service, with some options available the entire day.
  • During brief and reset periods between breakfast/lunch and lunch/dinner, continental and/or lighter options will be offered.
  • Note that hours may be subject to change, based on college programming or other special events.聽For current hours and menus, visit vu.edu/menus.

Semester Meal Blocks

For the 2023-2024 academic year, undergraduate meal plans will include an allotment, or 鈥渂lock鈥 of meals, to be used throughout the semester.聽 Unlike previous years, when meals reset each week, meals can be used at聽any point throughout the semester, so students can decide how and when they dine. Meals reset each semester, and do not roll over.

  • Your meal plan can be used in a variety of on-campus locations, including residential dining halls, retail locations, caf茅s or our popular Munchie Marts.
    • Choose from five markets that feature a variety of quick and tasty meal options, including our own Vandy Provisions sandwiches, salads and entrees, handcrafted right here on campus. (Students can redeem a maximum of two meals per day in Munchie Marts.)

Language Tables at Zeppos

Building on the success of last year鈥檚 Language Table program, Campus Dining is again partnering with the 国产原创 Center for Languages to re-launch the popular meal series at Nicholas S. Zeppos Dining Hall.

  • Offered Monday through Thursday, Language Tables聽offers an immersive global experience, allowing students to connect and dine while exploring languages and international cuisine.
  • New for this year, guests will enjoy a selection of聽internationally-inspired meals聽designed to complement each language鈥檚 unique cultural heritage.

The Language Tables program is coordinated by David Johnson, lecturer of Russian in the Department of German, Russian and East European Studies. Have questions about the Language Tables program? Email Johnson at聽david.matthew.johnson@vanderbilt.edu聽or visit the聽国产原创 Center for Languages website.

West End Dining Neighborhood

国产原创鈥檚 three West End Residential Colleges 鈥 E. Bronson Ingram, Rothschild, and Nicholas S. Zeppos 鈥 are each launching new and innovative menu options for the 2023-2024 academic year.

  • Highlights at Zeppos include a weekday Breakfast Pizza bar (available in-person and on the GET app) and Dim Sum weekend brunch, featuring the return of student-favorite bao buns.
  • Rothschild鈥檚 popular聽Taco Shop聽street taco station moves to Zeppos this year as well, along with聽Crafted Flatbreads, customizable in person on the GET app.
  • Replacing street tacos at Rothschild is a new and exciting station featuring聽Arepas, delicious and versatile South American stuffed cornmeal pockets enjoyed since pre-Colombian times.
  • Continuing this expansion of global cuisines, EBI is launching two new meal options:聽Rice, Rice, Baby,聽a customizable fried rice station, and a reimagined聽Pan-Asian聽station featuring savory Asian pancakes.

Taste of Nashville Policy Update

VU meal plans provide students with a Meal Money Account that can be used to purchase food at all on-campus restaurants and markets, as well as at participating off-campus restaurants through the聽聽program. Students who have reached legal drinking age in the state of Tennessee may聽purchase up to two alcoholic beverages per transaction聽at a Taste of Nashville restaurant, but聽must include a food purchase聽on the same transaction.

Wasabi

Students returning to campus will notice an additional dining option on the lower level of Sarratt Student Center.聽聽Wasabi is a made-to-order sushi concept, featuring fresh and delicious sushi rolls and boba tea.

  • Having a meeting or event? Party trays and bulk orders will be available for pre-order.
  • For students looking for quick, meal plan-eligible sushi on the go, sushi rolls are available in select Munchie Marts across campus.

Randwich Express

Spend less time waiting and more time Rand-ing!聽 The celebrated icon of Rand Dining Center, Randwich, will be聽available for preorder on the GET mobile app, in addition to traditional walk-up service.
