Come join the Outdoor Rec. program as we head to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch in the Ozarks for a week of rope climbing, bouldering, and general shenanigans. We will be lodging in style in one of the log 听cabins on the ranch, complete with a wood-burning stove to warm up after a hard day of climbing. 听 If that-聙聶s not enough comfort for you, we can always go for a dip in the renowned HCR hot tub at the visitor-聙聶s center. 听 All -聙聹at the cabin-聙聺 food is included, but we-聙聶ll also be heading into the nearby town of Jasper to see the sights and eat at the legendary Ozark Caf脙漏. 听 The trip cost includes all transportation, lodging, cabin meals and climbing lunches, climbing equipment, and instruction!

Join us on a short, difficult, yet rewarding hike on the Bearwaller Gap Trail that overlooks the Cordell Hull Lake. 听 We plan on hiking 5.6 miles on a trail that climbs and descends numerous times. 听 The rewards include rocky overlooks, old home sites, rock gardens, beautiful shoreline, and small waterfalls. 听 Estimated trip duration: 听 8 am -聙聯 5 pm.
Feb 15 (Sun) CLIMBING (Beginner) @ Kings Bluff, TN Cost: $22

Wall climbers, it-聙聶s time to try the -聙聹real thing-聙聺! 听 Kings Bluff is a great location for you to experience the fundamentals of rock climbing with our knowledgeable staff. 听Some climbing experience is preferred, so take some time to try out the new wall first! 听 听Shoe rental = $5.50 extra. 听 Estimated trip duration: 听 9 听am -聙聯 听6 pm.

Bells Bend Park is a relatively new park in Nashville that is being developed as a more natural park, rather than a -聙聹ball field park-聙聺. This time we will help build a new mountain biking trail in the park. 听 Experienced trail volunteers and equipment will be provided to help us. 听 Lunch is also provided, and hiking afterward is an option. 听 Estimated trip duration: 听 8 am -聙聯 3 pm.

To sign up for a trip, you must come to the Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC) during business hours, located at 2600 Children’s Way. Payment must be made in the Office of Campus Recreation (located in the Rec Center on the second floor) by 5 pm. For more info on trips, workshops, and equipment rentals, check out the web at 听.
