Please review the detailed information in the sections below.<\/p>\n<p>First-Year Students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fall Room Change Process (Begins Wednesday, August 20)<\/li>\n<li>Spring Room Change Process (Begins Monday, January 5)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Upper-Division Students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fall Room Change Process (Begins Wednesday, August 20)<\/li>\n<li>End of Semester Room Change Process (Begins Monday, December 1)<\/li>\n<li>Spring Room Change Process (Begins Monday, January 5)<\/li>\n<li>Summer Room Change Process (Begins Friday, May 15)\n<ul>\n<li>This room change period for continuing upper-division students assigned to on-campus housing ONLY.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Spring 2026 Room Change and Vacancy Pull-In Information &#8211; First-Year Students<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong><u>General Information<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any student requesting to change rooms should complete the Room Change Request located under the Applications menu in the Housing Portal beginning Monday, January 5.\u00a0 Requests to change rooms can be submitted though Wednesday, March 31.<\/p>\n<p>Room changes will be reviewed upon submission.\u00a0 Due to extremely limited available space, we cannot guarantee room changes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Vacancy Pull-In Requests<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any student requesting to move into a vacancy in a friend\u2019s double or triple room should complete the Room Change Application beginning Monday, January 5.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a vacancy in your room and wish to pull in a friend of your choice (first-year students only), please email our office at <a href=\"mailto:ashley.m.ladyman@vanderbilt.edu\">housing@vanderbilt.edu<\/a>\u00a0to confirm the student\/s you would like to pull-in to your space.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Spring 2026 Room Change and Vacancy Pull-In Information &#8211; Upper-Division Students<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Any continuing upper-division student assigned to a physical bed space on campus is welcome to request a room change.\u00a0 Students residing off campus are not eligible to participate in the process.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>General Information<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1.2rem\">Any student requesting to change rooms should complete the Room Change Request located under the Applications menu in the Housing Portal beginning Monday, January 5.\u00a0 Requests to change rooms can be submitted though Wednesday, March 31. Seniority and random selection are taken into consideration.\u00a0 Room changes are not guaranteed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Upper-Division Student Room Change Freeze<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Upper-division student room changes requests submitted by Friday, January 16 will be reviewed beginning the week of January 18.\u00a0 Requests submitted after Friday, January 16 will be considered on a rolling basis after initial submissions are considered.\u00a0 Prior to this time, Housing and Residential Experience is in the process of verifying all assigned students have taken occupancy of their assigned spaces and accounting for available vacancies.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Vacancy Pull-In Requests<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students residing in group living (apartments, doubles, Mayfield lodges, and Residential College suites) are welcome to pull in other eligible continuing upper-division students of their choice to fill any vacancies.<\/p>\n<p>Students with an on-campus housing assignment interested in moving to a vacancy in a friend\u2019s apartment, double, lodge or suite must submit the Room Change Request beginning Monday, January 5.<\/p>\n<p>All students assigned to the apartment, double, Mayfield lodge, or Residential College suite must also email Housing (housing@vanderbilt.edu) to confirm the student\/s requesting to be pulled in.<\/p>\n<p>Once all requests\/emails are received (from both the student\/students filling the vacancy\/vacancies, and all current occupants), Housing will process the request and students will receive a confirmation email.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Summer 2026 Room Change and Vacancy Pull-In Information &#8211; Continuing Upper-Division Students<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong><u>Eligibility and General Information<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any continuing upper-division student with an on-campus room assignment is eligible to submit a room change request.<\/p>\n<p>Application Dates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opens Friday, May 15<\/li>\n<li>Closes Monday, June 15<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Room changes are processed when spaces come available due to housing cancellations (fall study abroad, leaves of absence, students transferring to another institution, etc.) and will be offered on a rolling basis.\u00a0 <u>It is not uncommon for many of these cancellations to come in mid- to late July.<\/u>\u00a0 All applicants will be notified regarding the status of their request by Friday, July 31.\u00a0 Students are not required to accept offered room changes.\u00a0 Housing anticipates high demand for Highland Quad (Chaffin, Lewis, and Morgan) and Residential College single rooms with very limited availability.\u00a0 Seniority-based random selection is utilized to determine room changes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Vacancy Pull-In Information<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students residing in group living (apartments, doubles, Mayfield lodges, and Residential College suites) are welcome to pull in other continuing upper-division students of their choice to fill any vacancies that may result from original occupants transferring, taking a leave of absence, studying abroad, or completing an out-of-town internship.<\/p>\n<p>Students with an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">on-campus housing assignment<\/span> interested in moving to a vacancy in a friend\u2019s apartment, double, lodge, or suite must submit the Room Change and Vacancy Pull-In Request in the Housing Portal.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students who submitted an Unassigned Student Application should email Housing at <a href=\"mailto:housing@vanderbilt.edu\">housing@vanderbilt.edu<\/a> if they would like to fill a vacancy in a friend\u2019s space.<\/li>\n<li>Students with off-campus authorization must <a href=\"housing@vanderbilt.edu\" class=\"broken_link\">email Housing<\/a> if they would like to forfeit their off-campus authorization to fill an available vacancy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All students assigned to the apartment, double, lodge, or suite who will occupy the space for the fall 2026 semester must confirm the student\/s requesting to be pulled in by July 31.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">One student should send the <a href=\"housing@vanderbilt.edu\" class=\"broken_link\">email to Housing<\/a> and copy all other roommates on the message.<\/span>\u00a0 The student\/s departing the space and creating the vacancy\/vacancies should NOT be included on email communications.<\/p>\n<p>Once all requests\/email confirmations are received (from both the student\/students filling the vacancy\/vacancies, and all fall 2026 occupants), Housing will process the request and students will receive a confirmation email.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>General Information We offer various room change processes for eligible students.
