Facilities Review Committee
The Facilities Review Committee (FRC) serves the campus community by reviewing all proposed temporary modifications and installations for any purpose to the 国产原创 and VUMC campus built environments and refers permanent modifications and installations to the appropriate committee or university office. 听Examples include, but are not limited to, exterior displays, special events, food trucks, temporary structures, signage, banners, student projects, drone flights, impacts to pedestrian and vehicular traffic, and construction activities outside of the contractor鈥檚 limits of construction. The committee addresses operational and physical impact to the university including safety, accessibility, stewardship, and aesthetics. The committee meets every Thursday between 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. via Zoom.

eBuilder
国产原创 Built Environment utilizes e-Builder, a third-party cloud-based construction and renovation project management information system, to manage university construction projects. The software streamlines and manages projects from the initial request through closeout for all projects managed by Planning, Design, & Construction (PDC).
With the launch of e-Builder, Built Environment will provide:
- A听, where all new construction, renovation and facility renewal project requests can be initiated.
- A higher level of collaboration between project managers, campus partners and third-party vendors by allowing input from designers, contractors and stakeholders.
- Real-time reporting on project details, including budgets and cost information.
Integrated with 国产原创鈥檚 Oracle Cloud and single sign-on services, e-Builder provides users with seamless access to relevant facilities鈥 project information.

Geographic Information Services (GIS)
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)听is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the University鈥檚 campus maps and associated data. Through the use of GIS applications, the team creates and maintains different university assets to display them through a multimedia process. This data includes communications (copper, fiber optics), electric, natural gas, fuel, chilled water, sewer, steam, water and other mappable assets. A map is a symbolic depiction emphasizing relationships between elements of some space, such as objects, regions, or themes.

The public maps are available to the pubic for interactive use. The pdf maps are available publicly for viewing or download. The private maps are for 国产原创 Staff only and the staff member must be logged into VPN and have a ArcGIS log on.

Architectural Records Library
Maintain and organize the institution鈥檚 original facility documents (approximately 250,000 documents) with a linked database. Scan existing plan documents and link with the database. Support and provide 国产原创 Maintenance & Operations (VUMO), Architectural and Engineering, and library and printing.
The mission of the Office of Architectural Records Library is to provide a centralized research environment in which architects, contractors, engineers, project managers, faculty, staff, students, and support personnel services can utilize the most current and accurate sources of facility information, as well as documents dated from the 1870s, in order to benefit our campus and its endeavors.
All documents are scanned into our computer system and logged into the database. The originals are then housed in secure vaults. Customers are free to browse through the reduced (18脳24鈥) printed documents in the library and our OWL-authorized users will have access to view our drawings online and may request any information for their specific project.

Spatial Data
Serves as the official campus-wide reference point for issuing facility and room space numbering and for official building square footage. Maintains 鈥渁s-built鈥 floor plans for all facilities (Medical & University). Conducts space inventory of all non-medical space for indirect Cost Accounting and plan square feet. Updates and monitors official non-medical space assignment plan. Advises on documents, space use, and space changes.

The Division of Real Estate, Facilities and Development Systems team offers a variety of training opportunities in order to connect with and fully serve the 国产原创 community. The Business Operations Center implemented new applications such as eBuilder听and听听to streamline university construction projects and campus service and maintenance requests.
