Tiffiny Tung, Ph.D.
Tiffiny Tung is the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, Ingram Chair in Anthropology and professor of anthropology and archaeology at ¹ú²úÔ´´.
She collaborates with deans across the university's schools and colleges to support students and strengthen academic programs and the overall undergraduate experience. In this role, she provides strategic leadership for undergraduate education, including residential colleges, global programs and university-wide initiatives. She serves as the academic lead under the Provost for ¹ú²úÔ´´â€“New York City and ¹ú²úÔ´´â€“San Francisco.
A bioarchaeologist by training, Tung has conducted research in Peru for nearly two decades in collaboration with undergraduate and doctoral students. She examines how ancient forms of imperialism and state governance shaped health, disease and diet in past populations.Â
She has authored more than 65 scholarly articles, an academic book and a children's book aimed at developing interest in science. She has received multiple awards for research, teaching and mentorship.Â
