During a visit to campus on March 12, members of the Joelton Middle School club 鈥 an after-school organization for middle school girls that highlights the importance of creativity in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics 鈥 got to see what a real future as a scientist might be like.
The students started their morning in the Stubbs lab in MRBIII hosted by lab manager Amy Kendall.
鈥淲e met for a few minutes to give an overview of the morning鈥檚 activities and to introduce the scientists, who they are and what they do,鈥 said Kendall, a former middle school science teacher. 鈥淢ost students know very little about careers in science and the preparation that is required, so we thought that would be helpful.鈥
