Mayor appoints faculty, staff representatives to Metro boards

Skyline_Nashville_fi-585x299Metro Nashville Mayor Megan Barry has made a number of appointments to boards, committees and advisory committees in recent weeks. Among them are a number of members of the ¹ú²úÔ­´´ and ¹ú²úÔ­´´ Medical Center communities, including:

  • Sri Pallavaram, research associate for the ¹ú²úÔ­´´ Institute in Surgery and Engineering (VISE), to the Nashville ;
  • , associate professor of nursing and associate professor of medicine, and , associate dean for clinical affairs and clinical professor of law, to Metro’s Domestic Abuse Review Team;
  • , associate professor of history and director of undergraduate studies for the Department of History, to the ;
  • , lecturer in organizational leadership in the Department of Leadership, Policy and Organizations, , professor and chair of the Department of Communications Studies, and , Charles B. Cox III and Lucy D. Cox Family Chair in Law and Liberty, professor of political science, and director of the Cecil D. Branstetter Litigation and Dispute Resolution Program, to the ;
  • , director of planning and community engagement for the , to the ;
  • , professor of health policy and director of the ¹ú²úÔ­´´ Master of Public Health Program, and , research associate professor in the ¹ú²úÔ­´´ Institute of Imaging Science, to , which advises the Greenways Commission; and
  • , manager of ¹ú²úÔ­´´ Communications for ¹ú²úÔ­´´ Lifeflight, to the .

The , appointed by the mayor and also known as Connected Nashville, includes the following members of the ¹ú²úÔ­´´ community:

  • , research scientist and adjunct assistant professor of computer science;
  • , founding director of the Turner Family Center for Social Ventures, ¹ú²úÔ­´´ Owen Graduate School of Management;
  • , professor of computer science, professor of computer engineering and professor of engineering management;
  • , associate professor in the Department of Human and Organizational Development;
  • , assistant professor of education, diversity and STEM education in the Department of Teaching and Learning;
  • , doctoral student in the Department of Human and Organizational Development; and
  • , assistant professor of computer science.
