Registration Steps for ¹ú²úÔ­´´ Youth Programs

All youth programs must be registered and approved. Approved programs go through an annual renewal process.

Academic Year 2025-2026: The university has completed the Youth Program Registration system transition to Ideal Logic. The POM Web Application (legacy system) access will cease August 30, 2025.

If you wish to register a NEW program in Ideal Logic, please review program resources and guidance here. Annual POM training for 2025-2026 is active in Oracle Learning.

Under the Office of the General Counsel, University Compliance Services is the administrator of the Protection of Minors Policy.

VU Youth Program: In a VU youth program, ¹ú²úÔ­´´ personnel plan, register and supervise minors. Youth are in the care of VU personnel without a supervising parent or third party present.

VU Third Party Youth Program: A third-party program includes events that VU hosts in facilities or in collaboration with an outside entity and the third party registers and supervises minors through all activities.

ALL Programs: Program Directors who have oversight of the program are responsible for assuring the compliance elements of programs and all events and event personnel, which include:

  • Registration and approval of the program.
  • Registering Events in approved programs.
  • Verifying relative compliance for all personnel engaging with minors prior to the event. This includes annual training and background clearance at four year intervals for approved programs - see the POM policy for more details.
  • Program planning to include appropriate adult to minor ratios - see the POM Policy Handbook for ratio guides based on age and day/overnight events.
  • Adherence to the youth program medication policies.
  • A supervision plan for activities and events. This includes an emergency response plan for weather or campus threat.
  • A completed participation agreement for each minor participant in an approved program OR use of the Third Party Compliance Agreement for hosted third party programs.

Note: Please review the registration steps above before using the program creation steps below.

  • Instructions for New Program Registration

    To create a new program enter the youth program registration system and after log in, select "Register a New Program." Complete all questions and pages and select "finish." You will be notified via your VU email within 5 business days with next steps to take and a tool tip documents for Ideal Logic system will be provided.

  • Instructions for Approved Programs - Enter an Event in Ideal Logic

    No new events can be entered in the legacy POM Web App. In July 2025 personnel lists will be updated for compliance.

    Program Directors and Admins have permission to add, edit and manage events.Ìý

    Additional detail on event management and entry in Ideal Logic will be provided to active programs after annual renewal approval.

  • Enter Ideal Logic registration system

    Create and manage program elements, events, and personnel. Secure VPN required.

  • Protection of Minors Compliance Check for Individuals

    Use your ¹ú²úÔ­´´ issued VUNet ID to view personal compliance status for protection of minors, which includes dates of latest POM training and background clearance provided to the POM application from VU records.
